The script at
the top is interesting because the first four
characters combine onomatopoeia and a verb stem
acting as a noun. The last two characters are, of
course, kinshi
(forbidden,
not allowed, DON'T, etc.).
Sute comes from the verb suteru (to throw away, throw out, get rid of). Poi is described in one dictionary as the act of throwing or tossing something lightly. When poi precedes the verb, we have poi to suteru.
In poisute, the two words have been compacted to make a new noun. Of course, this noun can then be changed back into a verb by adding suru see right).
